We'll have spent the last to nights in Hpa An and the scenery is amazing, took a tour yesterday which would of been really good if the rain had stayed away, the rain was torrential got soaked even with wet weather gear on, ended up buying an umbrella once we got back into town

Ended up staying an extra not so I went out again today and the rain held off until just now,the scenery around here is amazing, towering mountains with rice paddies at there feet

Tomorrow am off to Mae Sot and cross into Thailand, probably spend a couple nights there before heading north and eventually in Laos, as I am crossing by land into Thailand I only get a 15 day visa

Day 20 Kim Pun

What Road and What Golden Rock ??

all seasons in one day 22 °C
View Indo 2016 until the money is gone on Richard Indo's travel map.

Well here I am at Kin Pun Sakhan, Foot of Mt. Kyaikhtiyo, Myanmar to visit the Golden Rock which apparently the 3rd most important Buddhist site in Burma and in the dry season the views would be terrific, but today I got to see some of the thickest fog I have ever encountered, middle of the day and at times visibility was more than 10 metres, the mountain is around 1100 metres so might of been cloud ?? but was still worth visiting

To get to the mountains you get on the back of truck with about 35 other souls and are jammed in like sardines and once nobody else can fit the take off for the summit and see if they can beat there best time to get to the top,was a bit hair raising to be honest !!

Still was nice to be in the mountains, nice and cool coupled with extreme fog and have down pours, but it is the height of the monsoon season so not many tourists which is good

Spent yesterday travelling for Bago and then organising site seeing, and my next destination which should be my last in Myanmar before crossing into Thailand,so have a leisurely breakfast tomorrow before the 4 hour bus trip to
Hpa An, Myanmar, only plan too spend a couple nights there and as tomorrow is a travel day,I once again get the day off blogging and boring everybody or making you envious??

rain 25 °C

Well another bus trip this time from Inle to Bago, only took 13 hours to cover the 350 odd Km's,so arrived in Bago early yesterday morning and after early check in at my lodgings and much needed sleep I spent the afternoon organising some transport to go site seeing today and my next lot of travel to Kim Pun which I a small town near the Golden Rock

So today was looking at more temples around Bago, one of which has a huge Python ,around 7 meters long & supposedly 125 years old but either way it was huge, not much more to tell other than the monsoon is still in full swing with lots of rain still around so see you all in a day or 2 from the golden rock?

Long boats

semi-overcast 25 °C
View Indo 2016 until the money is gone on Richard Indo's travel map.

Well an easy day getting around on a long boat on Inle lake, costed quite a few places, silversmiths, cigar makers and yep had one and was good but would of been better with an old bourbon!! Watching the carpenters make the long was interesting takes around 5 weeks to make one out of teak, last for 20-30 years if maintence is done every couple of years and cost $2500 Usd, also a lot of weavers making traditional cloth out of locus, the market place was also pretty cool

There is also a lot of vegetable gardens that are rendered by people in small boats, couple foot of dirt then a gap so the boat can go up and down the rows

Well that is a about it the phone is just about flat, still having a great time and see you tomorrow, which I have not planned anything to do might have an easy day and sort travel to Bago and the Golden RockBoat at house
